THE PET SPOT, INC:
The
Pet Spot is Cincinnati's luxury pet care resort for boarding, training, doggy
daycare and grooming. Our idea is to make your furry family member's stay safe, enjoyable
and fun whether you are dropping your pet off for a social day in daycare,
spa treatment, extended stay in our suites, or all three! Our best
customer feed back is watching your furry family member pull you back to our
door on your next visit. Our goal at The Pet Spot is to be the best
boarding and daycare facility in the Cincinnati area.

We
are conveniently located on the Norwood Lateral (562) near I-71
with easy access from I-75 only minutes from downtown.

pet's safety, health and entertainment are our top priorities.
OWNERS:
Once upon a time (2003), Terry
Rath befriended Jeff Voelpel. Jeff
owned and operated a doggy daycare in Hyde Park called K-9 Kamp.
Terry with his great danes was a weekly customer.
Terry approached Jeff with a business plan outlining the type of luxury
pet care facility he would like to leave his furry family members when he
traveled. Not some chain-link cage
where dogs are locked up all day but a luxury interactive boarding facility.
To Terry's amazement, Jeff had outlines of the very same business plan!
So Jeff and Terry joined forces and talents to create The Pet Spot,
Inc.
Backgrounds:
Jeff Voelpel:
Jeff Voelpel grew up in
Cincinnati, graduating from University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor's degree
of Business Administration. After
working for Kroger and Federated Insurance, Jeff left the corporate world to
pursue his passion in the animal care industry.
Jeff attended Melody Manor School of dog grooming in August 2002.
He then opened K-9 Kamp in 2003 offering daycare and grooming.
Business at K-9 Kamp boomed and Jeff was in danger of running out of
space. It was there Jeff met his wife Erin. Jeff and Erin have one child named Alivia Simone who was born on November 1, 2007. Jeff is
in charge of the day-to-day operations of The Pet Spot and plans to become ABKA
certified Kennel Operator.
Terry Rath:
Terry Rath grew up in
Indianapolis, IN and graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of
Science in Business Administration and attended St Louis University for Masters
in Business Administration. Terry
owned and operated a scrap metal recycling yard in St Louis, MO from 1996 to
2001. He sold the business in late 2001. He
moved to Cincinnati, OH in February 2002 to work for The David J. Joseph Company
as Vice President, Metals Group. A
position he holds today. An avid
dog lover, Terry is an active member in ABKA (American Boarding Kennel
Association) and has attended seven classes with the association.
Terry plans to become ABKA certified Kennel Operator.
Terry is married to his wife Kate who is an IT specialist and developed
this website. You will often see Kate at The Pet Spot as she works there Tuesday through Friday and every other weekend with Terry.
Terry and Kate have two children-both very furry (Lucy and Angus/
blue and black great danes).
